No Kings: Portraits
When I first began shooting the No Kings protests, I had little idea on what I would make my primary focus. However, by the second protest I began noticing the unique, wide range of personalities exhibited at these events that came from all types of backgrounds and races. These idiosyncratic characteristics personified, to me, what truly Makes America Great…the diverse people. These portraits were taken at No Kings protests all over the state of Missouri, reflecting who these people are as a vivid representation of this diversity within America. The collection of photos celebrate this melting pot of diversity with all these individuals coming together for one purpose: to use their first amendment right to speak out against a growing authoritarian regime.
